The Hayden Fire, located about 18 miles west of Leadore, continues to remain uncontained and authorities will host a community meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 25.
The U.S. Forest Service will host the meeting at the Leadore Community Center, at 206 S. Railroad St. in Leadore, for residents in the area. The hosts will post a recording of the meeting on the Salmon-Challis National Forest Facebook page after the meeting.
Roughly 9,660 acres in the Hayden Fire are already burned and 395 personnel are on scene. The cause of the fire that started June 19 is still undetermined.
Evacuation zones have been identified by the Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office in coordination with the forest service but there are no mandatory evacuations, as of Tuesday morning.
There is a Red Flag Warning in place, which means warm temperatures, very low humidity, and stronger winds are expected to combine to produce an increased risk of fire danger.
